On Tuesday night I was honoured to attend the Victorian Telstra Business Awards evening as one of five finalists out of over 5000 applicants.
Although Bindle did not 'take home the trophy', I was incredibly grateful to have made it to the final stage, and privileged to be in the field with so many inspirational businesses.
After recovered from the initial shock of being nominated for the award, the daunting application process began. 45 lattes and 28 glasses of wine later, my application was submitted. The award application has been a great opportunity to reflect on Bindle’s achievements over the last three years. I revisited what Bindle represents and was reminded of the many opportunities that lie ahead on the Bindle journey.
Since its inception in 2012, Bindle has blossomed from a humble "corner in the room" hobby, to a warehouse operation. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced is having the confidence to grow my own business. I’m incredibly proud of how Bindle has grown, and I am very excited about the journey that lies ahead.
I am passionate about supporting talented local artisans and I feel blessed to have created a successful business dedicated to celebrating fabulous Australian-made products. I can only hope that I inspire others to share the same ‘love local’ approach, making a conscious choice to support Australian businesses.
Founding Bindle and running my own business has been a remarkable adventure, however it certainly wouldn’t have been possible without the support and tenacity of the many local suppliers who make up the beautiful Bindle gifts. I would also like to acknowledge the understanding and support of friends and family. I am incredibly grateful. Thank you!
Now back to Bindling ...
