WØRKS philosophy "The world doesn't need more; it needs better" sings true to the heart of Bindle. We are so fortunate to have stumbled upon WØRKS, now featured in a number of our corporate gifts. We recently asked Founder Suze Raymond a few questions.
1. What is it about WØRKS that is uniquely Australian?
We have a strong focus on Australian made. We source all of our ingredients within Australia and make all of our formulations in Melbourne. We are committed to true craftsmanship – not mass-market products – so we make our products in small batches every 8-10 weeks and fill them by hand in our Melbourne studio. As a family business we’re proud to support the other small businesses in our supply chain to ensure local production and high quality.
2. How has Danish design influenced the creation of WØRKS?
My co-founder and husband Christoffer is Danish, so bringing an element of Danish design into the brand was really important to us. This has heavily influenced our aesthetic, which draws from the clean lines and minimalistic nature of Scandinavian design.
We focus on the idea of timelessness; our products are designed as objects of permanence for the home, so they prioritise small details, high-quality materials, and muted colour palettes. We use glass for our bottles and candle jars to ensure they are dishwasher safe, so they can be thoroughly cleaned and re-used. This feeds into the concept of our products having longevity within the home, which is something Danish design is renowned for.
As a side note, the Ø in our name WØRKS is the Danish national symbol for certified organic. We incorporated this symbol into our name in recognition of the certified organic ingredients we use in our formulation.

3. Bindle is committed to partnering with suppliers who prioritise sustainability – how does sustainability feature in your business?
Sustainability is an enormous part of our business. It’s actually one of the reasons we founded the business in the first place: there were simply no brands making high end personal care products truly sustainable.
A big priority in our commitment to sustainability is removing plastic from our products, processes, and supply chain. We use only glass and aluminium packaging and 100% recyclable presentation boxes and shipping cartons. No plastic bottles, tubes, refill pouches, or bubble wrap – ever.
We also have a strong focus on certified organic raw materials, which are not only better for the skin and human health, but also have a huge environmental advantage. Certified organic means that crops are grown without chemical fertilisers and pesticides, which protects the land and surrounding waterways and ecosystems from damage.
We also ensure that all products are biodegradable, vegan and cruelty-free, and we offset the carbon associated with shipping out orders Australia-wide.

4. How do you formulate the beautiful scents embodied at WØRKS.
We work with a wonderful local perfumer who is a true master of perfumery. Every WØRKS scent starts with a story; a glimpse into a moment in time shaped by an emotion. We then build out a storyboard and mood board and workshop the concepts together with our perfumer. We generally go through multiple iterations before finding the perfect blend, then it’s finessed to ensure it balances cohesively with its matching formulation. All of our scent blends are certified by IFRA, the International Fragrance Association, which is the highest global body for fragrance health and safety. Once they have passed compliance, the fragrances are made in small batches in Australia.5. What’s on the horizon for WØRKS?
We’re currently working on a beautiful hair care range. There’s also some exciting product development in the home fragrance category coming soon.6. Our three standard, true blue quick questions:
a. Favourite memory growing up as a kid in Australia?
Long beach days, sandy feet, and the smell of sunscreen.
b. Favourite place to holiday in Australia?
Any of our gorgeous wine regions – although now with two little ones in tow the quality of local playgrounds is a big factor!
c. If you could invite three great Australians (past or present!) to dinner who would they be?
Liane Moriarty, because I adore her books. Baz Luhrmann, to share his stories. Christopher Penfold, to bring the wine.
