'All Tied Up with Bindle' - Broadsheet

“Ordering a gift package usually conjures up the image of cane baskets and lavender bath salts entrapped in swathes of tawdry cellophane and curled ribbon – something you wouldn’t dream of palming off to your mum. But just when it seemed all was lost, along came Bindle.

Bindle is the brainchild of Catherine Blackford, who, faced with the recurring nightmare of trying to find an inspired gift for family and friends, decided to create a solution. With an eye for detail, Blackford went about tailoring hand-made gift packages for specific concepts and occasions, all sustainable and all uniquely styled.

Bindle packages are primarily concerned with quality over quantity. All the products found within a Bindle are sourced from local artisans and farmers and gone are the filler products. Every part of the parcel is Australian made, from the products to the packaging to the hands that wrap them.

Is there a better way to say ‘Get better soon’ than sending a parcel with a boutique handkerchief, myrtle and ginger heat pillow, lavender and mandarin hand cream, and locally sourced jasmine and green tea inside a ceramic teacup, complete with strainer?

What about that friend who always has a coffee in hand? The Short Black and Sides – beans from Axil Coffee Roasters, orange and almond biscotti from Em’s Baked Goods, Robert Gordon ceramic latte cups and milk jug – is just perfect.

And then there are life’s essentials – fine wine, preserves and a ceramic cheese board – all wrapped up in Bindle’s signature crisp paper and tied up in string.

What a pleasant way to give the gift of your favourite things.”
